Parents

Young Life goes into the world of kids, crossing barriers to build bridges of authentic friendship.  We enter their world with no expectation of who kids should be, but with every hope for who they can become.  Young Life has been in Greenville, SC for over 64 years and we have 11 active clubs; Christ Church Episcopal High School, Eastside High School, JL Mann High School, Capernaum, Greenville High School, Mauldin High School, Riverside High School, Travelers Rest High School, Wade Hampton High School, Hillcrest High School and YoungLives for teen moms.

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways — by becoming a volunteer leader or committee member, by attending a Young Life fund-raising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids.

Keeping Kids Safe

An important part of our committment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity.

Young Life's Human Resources department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders as well as when kids are part of Young Life'sponsored activities.

While many of our leaders are college students from Furman University or North Greenville University, we have a large number of young professional leaders. They have all completed the YL leader training course and are then placed on a YL team.  They commit to our Leadership Covenant and undergo a criminal background check before the are allowed to be leaders.
